Seychelles is a country composed of 115 islands in Indian ocean. It is closer to Africa than to Asia. The main islands are neither volcanic nor coral atolls. They are remnants of a prehistoric continent Gondwana. Some outer islands are coral atolls. Most people live on the largest central islands. There are about 100 thousand permanent residents and a fluctuating crowd of tourists. Seychelles islands are uniquely beautiful due to a combination of granite boulders, white sand and tropical rainforest. The boulders have specific shape resembling fabric folds. It is a result of millions of years of erosion. This feature is probably unique in the world as most islands elsewhere are either volcanic or coral and do not have such large granite boulders. White sandy beaches fringed with the boulders and palm trees are classical components of a postcard-like picture of Seychelles. Although there are official rainy and dry seasons, we found that in Seychelles weather does not read books. Any time of the year seems the same in terms of rain. It is always warm though!!! The wind direction does change throughout a year. We found that the best way to explore Seychelles is to sail. As islands are in direct sight of view from each other, navigation is easy and sailing is safe. The movie shows a cruising trip between Mahe, Praslin, Curieuse, La Digue and Silhouette islands on sail yacht Tina chartered from seyscapes.co.uk. During the trip we absorbed the unique beauty of Seychelles with its granite boulders, white sand beaches, and tropical rainforest. We also learned about Seychelles giant tortoises and Coco de Mer as well as enjoyed the more common attributes of sailing such as fishing and snorkeling. The footage represents what one can expect while undertaking a similar exploration trip and provides a sample itinerary.
