A boat cannot sail against wind, sailors need to go in a zig-zag pattern. A turn when boat's bow crosses the wind is called a tack. Initially, the wind is on one side of the boat, the sails are angled to the other side. Then the boat is turned and the sails need to be moved to the other side. Watch how the front sail jib is released from one side and then is moved to the other. After the boat turns and the sails start catching the wind on the other side the boat the wind tilts the boat. This tilt is called heeling.
