Seychelles are remnants of a prehistoric continent Gondwana and they are neither volcanic nor coral. That is why they are composed of granite. This feature is probably unique in the world as most islands elsewhere are either volcanic or coral. White sandy beaches fringed with the boulders and palm trees are classical components of a postcard-like picture of Seychelles. We found a small hidden spot on Mahe island, away from roads and people. There was a [[Beach river in Seychelles|beach]] and a small lagoon with a river.
